The majority of these exchanges will most likely never be published, but my responses to the questions asked are still true. Two of the most common questions asked during these interviews were; “how long do you plan on working as a companion,” and “how does your work effect your dating life?” I’ve always maintained that I would stop working as a male companion the moment I stopped enjoying myself. I’ve also remained single or at least without a monogamous relationship for the better part of my career.

I am still very happy with my chosen profession…I’ve had some amazing adventures and built some relationships that I will always hold dear to my heart. If we’ve spent some time together, you know just how hard I can laugh…and also how often I do. Well, now I have something new to smile about…I’ve fallen in love.

It’s time for me to start the next chapter in my life. Thank you so much for sharing the previous pages in my story…without them, I wouldn’t be here. Thank you so much for the experiences we have shared. I can’t imagine choosing a more interesting or rewarding way to have spent the last few years of my life.

Man's feelings are always purest and most glowing in the hour of meeting and of farewell.

- Jean Paul Richter

That's Life

The Couple, Continued...

I arrived at my incall, two hours early…excited for the evening’s festivities. Jack, Alicia and I, seemed to hit it off quite well, on our previous date. I was looking forward to a little more face time, behind closed doors.

Our original plan was to begin the evening at a local spot, for some drinks and live music. We soon realized after our arrival, that a five-piece band doesn’t necessarily lend itself to intimate conversation…and it would take just a few more cocktails before the three of us would be bumping and grinding on the dance floor. We picked a wall, enjoyed our beers, and then relocated to a pub down the street…that just so happened to provide an excellent jukebox.

It was a casual evening. Both Jack, and I were in jeans, and t-shirts…my grandfather’s hat tilted just to the right…Jack’s 5 o’clock shadow, turning heads at 8pm. Alicia looked even more stunning than on Sunday. Tight pants, hugged by knee high boots…a thick black belt, and fitting crème sweater complimented her voluptuous figure.

Jack and I played the first game of pool, while Alicia assembled a soundtrack. Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, James Brown…Dolly Parton!? You gotta love a girl that mixes “let’s get it on.” With “9 to 5.” I of course lost the first pool game. I directly attribute this to slow alcohol intake…everyone knows that pool skills go up, as pints go down.

*Tequila shots*

Alicia sauntered around the table, as Jack and I played our second game. Jack stopped her on more than one occasion, to steal a kiss, or squeeze. I tried to keep my concentration, despite her INENTIONALLY brushing up against me during my turns. Of course I lost once again…which prompted my decision to become a professional shuffleboard player. Shortly after my defeat, we made our way back to my incall

Jack settled in at the table with a scotch on the rocks, while Alicia made herself comfortable on the chaise lounge. After throwing some Ruth Brown on stereo, and a subtle nod from Jack…I moved to Alicia’s side of the room. I leaned down in front of her, placed her drink on the side table, a hand on under her chin…and pulled her in for a kiss…moments later tilting her head back while my lips touched her neck. Alicia repositioned to her back, while I worked my way around her clothing…planting kisses and nibbles, to the areas I had exposed. It wasn’t long till our clothes were in a pile on the floor, and Jack was unbuttoning his shirt.

Jack and I spent a fair amount of time both spoiling, and enjoying Alicia. I eventually excused myself, and took over J’s chair back at the table. Call me a voyeur, but the show was pretty amazing. I could have taken notes…but if I had left the room to grab a pen, I just might have missed the words “I love you,” being passed back and forth between our two stars of the evening.

As the night came to a close we laughed and poked fun at each other, while playfully tossing found articles of clothing around the room. How is it that I always lose a sock in these situations? Is it possible that one of the attendees stole my argyle sock, in hopes of capturing the essence of my shuffleboard skills? If so, I understand…consider it an early Christmas gift. ;)

Happy Anniversary Guys!

The Couple

About a month ago a Portland couple, contacted me. Jack and Alicia, have been married for seven years, and are celebrating their anniversary this weekend. On a routine holiday trip to Seattle, the two thought they would spice things up a bit, and throw a new toy in to the mix….We met for drinks this evening in Capitol Hill.

We’ve been in pretty consistent contact with each other since mid October. I’m pretty sure Jack sent the initial email…but Alicia and I have shared a few conversations via g-chat, and I was eager to finally meet my new friends face to face.

Around eight pm, I pulled up a stool at the bar. J & A are spending the weekend with family, and arranged to sneak away for a few hours, to a rustic pub located just around the corner. I’ve been here before…great decor, stiff drinks, and it’s appropriately named “SMITH.” ;)

Around 8:30, Jack & Alicia walked through the front door. Although I had never actually seen a photo of the two, their online descriptions were pretty much spot on. Jack, wearing a leather jacket, and definitely sporting a rocker style, stands around 5’8’’, and I say spends a little more time at the gym than he admits. Dianne is pretty much a Mad Man’s wet dream…5’7’’, copper colored hair, voluptuous red lips, and an hourglass figure that even Joan Holloway would kill for.

Jack promptly ordered us three shots of tequila, and a pitcher of seasonal brew, as we relocated from the bar, to a table. Our conversation covered a broad range of topics...eccentric family members, mac & cheese, taxidermy, Behind the Green Door… after a few drinks, no topic is off the table…but some are more appropriately discussed underneath it. Maintaining composure proves to be a tad more difficult, when a beautiful woman’s hand is steadily moving up the inside of your leg. ;)

Although I’d love to tell you the three of us were unable to control our impulses, and found our way to a more intimate location…this evening was set up as just a taste test…a delicious serving of foreplay, already built up by a month of anticipation. Our next encounter will take place this coming Monday. The menu calls for live music at the old neighborhood pub, and a nightcap back at my incall. I can’t wait.

Expect one hell of a blog entry next week. ;)

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; Enthusiastic. Playful. Jovial, Gregarious. Polite. Well mannered. Respectful.
* How did the companion make you feel? Protected. Pampered. Treasured. Wanted.

* Please describe the experience: In my typical fashion I had jammed packed my weekend in Seattle with an almost frenzied schedule of things to do; Family, museum, friends, and Smith. Smith has an ability to move in and out of my eclectic schedule as smooth as silk. Friday started with us being treated with a couple package of in-service massage therapy. Wheelchair traveling can be such a drag unless you are as lucky as I was. Smith stepped up and handled many details to have my progression through time advance smoothly. We dined Saturday evening at the Columbia Tower Club, with the only sunset during my stay. On the way to dinner, Smith and I caught up with each other’s day. I was so at ease over this weekend with Smith. How to explain…it was as if I had just seen him last week. We pick up together as if there had been no break. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaI_BMtm3jc
Anyway, Smith was chatting how he had spent his day shopping and cleaning. My sister and I did a double feature at the cinema. Smith’s spot on chivalry while interacting with my family was a true gift. I was grateful for his gentleness, humor and respect toward my sister. Thank you, Smith. I never have any internal hitches when around Smith. After dinner, he accommodated me nicely by offering his in call for our mutual pleasure, while my sister enjoyed my room (and view) at my hotel.
Smith’s love nest is a little jewel of history. It is a converted 1920 apartment building to condominiums and on a quiet and discreet street in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, about a 15-minute ride from downtown Seattle. Dear Smith had worked all of the logistics to get me into the condo. A gentle mist began to clear my head and make me laugh at the circumstances. A helping hand from a friendly neighbor, we were not the only ones up after midnight, got me into the building. Smith had figured out it would be best if we went down to get up. :) His face filled with care and concern as we worked together to a common goal. It was Smith’s strength and thoughtfulness that got me into the elevator and into his condo. All the doorways and the antique elevator had door variances that were very tight. Yes, wide enough for the wheelchair to get through but only with Smith’s assistance.
The condo was immaculate and has an air of romance with high ceilings, hardwood floors, romantic lighting, and boudoir drapery. Well appointed in period furniture including a chaise and an iron bedstead with an atmosphere so more seductive then a hotel room. Smith catered to my dessert whim and stocked Remy Martin, vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries. I was not expecting to see a side of “man can cook with smile” talent. A delicious breakfast consisted of an egg scramble( w/feta, mushrooms, tomatoes) accompanied with berries and sausage. Made and served by Smith. In bed no less! He really is a bouncy cheery person first thing in the morning.
I knew Smith and I had reached a new plateau in our relationship when I hear him and my sister chatting as he is pushing me to the museum Sunday. Both were agreeing with each other, I was not a morning person!

* Would you recommend this companion to other ladies? Definitely. There are so many wonderful facets to this jewel of a gentleman. I cannot wait to drop him into my next adventure and see how brilliant his shine is, again.

Thank you, Sunshine! ;)

The Radiant Child

I am a HUGE fan of Jean-Michel Basquait. Although I was very excited to meet some new people, I was even more enthusiastic to meet up with an old friend. Sunshine hails from Sunnyvale, California. We speak often, and recently had a three day Remy tour of Seattle. Sunshine was also attending the conference, and therefore staying at the same hotel.

We met almost immediately after arriving at the suites. She is just as I remember; small in stature…with the energy of a super nova, blonde hair with pink highlights, the life of the party. Gwen promptly ran over, and the two hit it off just as I imagined they would…both troublemakers by nature. ;) We all registered, and went our separate ways, until meeting later that evening.

I found Sunshine at the Desiree mixer, already in full conversation about Concierge du Monde, and the straight male escort industry. Sunshine makes one hell of a representative. J I sat at the table, and joined the conversation. For the next twenty minutes we shared ideas, and discussed the future. It’s such an interesting dynamic to have both sides of the business sitting at one table, discussing our relationship with complete, but welcoming strangers. I’d say we did pretty well…although Sunshine trumped me with her business cards. ;)

After a night out on the strip with Gwen, one tends to sleep in. :p Around noon, on Monday, I stumbled out of bed, and made my way towards the conference, to hopefully catch a glimpse of some event celebrities: Kimberlee Cline, Amanda Brooks, Belle de Jour. Reaching the second floor, my pocket vibrated with a new txt message…

“Are you awake yet? You’re missing the conference. ;) I’m heading back to my room for a break…care to join me?”

A quick one-heel spin, and I’m on my way.

There’s something to be said for the relationships you have in life that never seem to skip a beat. SS, and I, can go months without seeing each other, and still laugh about the joke we shared over dinner back in June. We spent an hour lounging around her room, discussing the conference, sharing stories, and laughing our asses off. This is typical behavior for us. I bid her farewell, and she reminds me to “not shave, and keep the lip ring in,” for our date later that evening.

Around 8pm Super Nova greets me at her door. She is of course, stunning as ever, even when it’s her version of casual. ;) After a few stops in the cab, we arrive at our destination; the Rio’s Masquerade Tower. It seams that SS and I have an ongoing theme of amazing views, throughout our engagements. In Seattle it was the Columbia tower, in Vegas it’s the Voodoo Steak & Lounge.

Sunshine is sweet, and knows me so well, ordering me a San Pellegrino for me, while I freshen up. :) After enjoying soup, salad, and a few appetizers…we move on to the main course. Who knew steak could be cooked with such perfection…I lose myself in the most delicious filet mignon, accompanied with mac & cheese, drizzled in truffle oil. YUM! Our lady of the hour dined on bourguignon, and we shared a bottle of Pinot Noir.

After dinner, we taxied back to the suite…and privately enjoyed a more intimate desert. It was another amazing evening with Sunshine…and hopefully one of many more to come.

Both Sunshine and I spent a better part of the week, at the conference. The Trapezius
The first thing is oil. Any good massage oil from a health-food store will work. Some favorites from around the home: jojoba or grape-seed. Make sure that the recipient is in a comfortable seated position in front of you. Place your hands on her shoulders and grab the trapezius — the big muscle that leads from the neck to the shoulders, the one everybody loves to have rubbed. Shake it a little bit back and forth. Squeeze it, rub it. Push up against the neck a little bit and move down toward the shoulders. Don't be afraid of using too much pressure. If your partner moans or says, "That's the spot," stick with it.

2. The Shoulder Blades
Then move on to the shoulder blades. Pay particular attention to the space between the shoulder blades and the vertebral column. Use your fingertips to rub back and forth between the vertebral column and the shoulder blade. Be vigorous. And whatever you're massaging when she says "That's the spot," stay on that spot.

3. The Vertebral Column
Run your thumbs down each side of the spinal column. Push them into the back and move all the way down without touching bone. Never massage bone. Go up and down one side and up and down the opposite side.

Consultant: Rick Sharpell, owner of Relax massage therapy in New York City.
Article from the Esquire.com, http://www.esquire.com/women/women-issue/relationship-tips-for-men/how-to-give-a-back-rub-0510

The Modern Gentleman: Skinny-Dipping

Excerpts from the Modern Gentleman: A Guide to Essential Manners, Savvy & Vice, by Phineas Mollod & Jason Tesauro

What better end to an evening of group revelry, romantic frolic, or solitary mischief than a refreshing rinse and spin? Breaststroke sans a slap in the face, the skinny-dip is the most laudable of swims. Here, group or dual dynamics are fortified by liberating nakedness and a tinge of naughtiness. Like a night at sleep-away camp, once a small band has shared a bare splash, all bonds are reinforced. Besides, you've always wanted to see your pal's girlfriend naked anyway.
Even without drawers, the after-hours puddle splash is no time for a gentleman to lose his shirt Here are a few recommended scenarios:

*Oceanfront Foray: A moonlight jaunt is a must for any beach stay.

*Disco Dip: After bouts of the Hustle, sweaty friends assuage the heat by dodging into a local hotel water hole.

*Lakeside Isolation: Nobody's around, so it's a day or night treat (watch for snapping turtles).

*Polar Drench: Have a warm robe and a hot toddy waiting.

*Post-Love Lave: Beyond the bath…lagoons aren't just for Brooke Shields and seven stranded castaways.

*Chlorine Nightcap: Why don't we all go back to my place for a float?

*Solo Soak: Spiritual "me time" in quiet waters.

How does a gentleman maintain a polite personal space when the only thing between him and her is H2O? Casting off clothing doesn't signal the loss of manners. Despite primal urges to take to the bleacher seats with binoculars and peanuts, glance but furtively upon disrobing others. A callipygian lady should be allowed to slip languidly into the water without probing eyeballs keeping her in the crosshairs like a turkey shoot. Likewise, while assessment of fellow men's equipment is generally more open here than at the local YMCA, refrain from applaucse-o-meter-like responses. Like savvy investors, some chaps retain hidden assets.
While a quorum is necessary to begin, sometimes not all parties are eager participants. In this case, excuses like "It's too cold," "I'm too tired," or "There might be jellyfish" should be left unmeddled, even if deeper issues are clearly at stake. A skinny-dip is no time to coercively purge someone's genuine fears of murky water, incarceration, or physical insecurity. Do not reprimand a swimmer who retains skivvies-all levels of daring are encouraged. On the other hand, a small mob of friends may overtake a noisy flapdoodler or oarfish bore and toss him gleefully into the drink.
Skinny-dipping already carries a badge of rascality. However, the more experienced rabble-rouser may up the stakes. When choosing a site, do not rule out private pools. The exhilaration of backstrokes in the buff is nearly matched by the thrill of scaling a neighbor's fence or tiptoeing into the hotel whirlpool. Be wary of consequences, but do not eschew a titillating round of Marco Polo just because "your parents might catch us." A dripping posse of scampering nudes is more likely to elicit giggles and envy than actual litigation.
When necessary, keep it quit, fun, and light on the libido; chicken fights are more efficient without the hydrodynamic drag of an uninvited erection.

Nice touch: It worked for securing that hot bistro table on Saturday night, so slip an understanding security guard a ten spot to look the other way as the gang has a midnight swim.

Skinny-dipping etiquette translates to hot tubs, where the cloak of rising steam shouldn't cloud conduct. Normal rules of personal space are suspended when abutting another's nakedness. However, don't commit the post-tub flub of projected hot-water fantasies until a continued connection is proven on land.

We will return after these messages...

Some times you just need to check out. A juke-box affords a public opportunity to select moodful tunes and display an eclectic musical canon. In the right hands, greatest hits are tabled so that B-sides may shine.

Your dollar is a well-considered three-act passion play, not a heedless afterthought. Do not feel constrained by random shuffle play-put a set together. Range the emotions and forage deep. Do a "double-shot" and your genius will be noticed. Avoid the pitfalls of the vapid and eschew standards of heavy rotation. Can't you do better than “Brown-Eyed Girl” or "Margaritaville?" At every enlightened venue, you will find The Best of Blondie, Saturday Night Fever, and Neil Diamond's favorites. These are a constant presence, like the flu. Be underground radio, not Casey Kasem. When in doubt or rushed to return for your pool shot, toss in a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. In the event of sudden dead air, make a quick choice from the current open page.

Before final selections, tour the entire menu: don't squander a dollar before you've seen the merchandise (though, first-pitch fastball swinging is allowed for an especially tasty number). Don't be one-minded: mix it up and enhance the vibe of the room. Like at a railroad crossing, stop, look, and listen: perhaps a touch of the blues or the dive special (any Allman Brothers' song over twelve minutes) is in order. As long as Devo's "We’re Through Being Cool" isn't your first selection, give the people what they want. In any case, the "no Kenny Loggins" lamp is always light.

Exercise restraint before fulfilling some inner-alcoholic, inexplicable-need for a tired favorite like 'Start Me Up.” However. the above guidelines are suspended when: "impairment" becomes an understatement, the waitress has joined your party, or you are a regular patron.

THE BIG SPENDER

When settled in for an evening's entertainment. go ahead and splurge on the eighteen-song super set. Your wrinkle-free Lincoln can provide the soundtrack for a solid, golden hour. Don't tarry-popular jukeboxes boast large backlogs, forcing a twenty-minute wait before your medley begins. Select early, so that "Superstition" won't be just starting just as you settle the tab. If someone is already at the helm, offer a "settlement." For example, Tesauro steps up to the box and spies a young lass frustrated because the bill acceptor is spitting back her tattered buck: May l offer you some fresh currency? Why don't you give me your dollar. I'll put in a five, and qualify us for the extra songs . . .like the upper-section 35-point bonus in Yahtzee. The catch? I get to pick the first song; you can have the next three. As the benefactor, I retain veto power. Shall we dance?

TABLETOP DINER MODELS

Famished in Jersey diner late one evening, you encounter a diminutive, tabletop, twenty-five-cent mono jukebox nestled behind the A-I Sauce. Soak in the play list: ne'er heard Billyjoel singles sit beside Elton John's "I'm Still Standing," just above Bobby Darin's "Mack the Knife," to the left of "That's Amore!” If you have at least a booth's-length from the nearest revelers. punch up the volume from LO to HI.

NINE INCH NAILING

After an especially horrible experience of poor service, repeat short pours, or unsavory clientèle, its clearly time to leave the bar. Even if you harbor enough resentment to piss in the corner pocket, stop and instead user your underdeveloped superego to produce a gift for everyone. Pure fury is much sweeter when spread out over the course of $5. This is the time for stuffing the jukebox with “Lets get Physical.” Put that dusty Irish Drinking Songs on repeat (after three or four plays, “The Rover” ceases to be pleasant). Perhaps you might go for the darker side- play the last four songs on Nine Inch Nail's Downward Spiral, repeatedly. If you are a victim of Nine Inch Nailing, simply yank the plug and start over.

Mollod, Phineas, and Jason Tesauro. the Modern Gentleman: A Guide to Essential Manners, Savvy & Vice. Pretty much every book I found, went over how a man should dress 6, shave 7, speak 8, etc...most of which are common sense. To be honest, nothing really stands out as an “all in one guide to being a gentleman”...but during my search, I did find a book which I find quite entertaining. The Modern Gentleman, A Guide to Essential Manners, Savvy & Vice is “more than just a waggish take on Emily Post. It is as refined and potent as Single-malt Scotch.”9 At times the advice given in this book can be a little questionable, but when you cover everything from introductions, to skinny dipping 10...I think it's ok to stray off path a little ;)

As a substitute for music videos, and movie trailers...I'm going to start posting excerpts from the book from time to time. I need content, and some of you guys need a lesson in manners! 11 ;)

1 About a year ago...on Capitol Hill
2 This excludes the times when she scolds me for taking a sip of my cocktail, prior to the toast
3 This excludes when people drive slow in the passing lane.
4 Left to right
5 When I'm eating it right to left
6 Board shorts & The funny thing is, this is not due to a lack of interesting things going on in my life. Over the past months, I've traveled, entertained, consumed, and celebrated. I guess at the end of the day, sometimes it's just a little easier to go over the events in your head, than jotting them down in a notebook, or posting them on line. This however, is not a good means of sharing your experiences with others. On a recent trip to Sacramento...I was reminded of this by a new friend. She asked if I had been on vacation, or just feeling a bit unindustrious. After complimenting her on her choice of the word "unindustrious," I explained that I had in fact just been feeling a bit lazy with the on line journal, but now that I was being called out on it...I would post what will soon be known as...

"THE GREATEST BLOG ENTRY OF ALL TIME!!" lol

Please stay tuned for "THE GREATEST BLOG ENTRY OF ALL TIME!!,” as well as other earth shattering stories of male courtesanship, and Youtube spots of Ol' Blue Eyes. ;)

Tatum Blues...

From the 1947 film "Fabulous Dorseys". Art Tatum, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmie Dorsey, Charlie Barnet, George Van Eps, Ray Bauduc, Ziggy Elman.

                                                      - "Tatum's quick reflexes and boundless imagination kept his improvisations filled with fresh (and sometimes futuristic) ideas that put him way ahead of his contemporaries ... Frank's Oscars and Grammy awards are on display and his portraits line the walls. I ordered LL a Lillet on the rocks and a Gibson for myself. We sat in the lounge and enjoyed a few moments of The Manchurian Candidate while our table was being prepared. Soon enough, it was time to leave the booth and enter the main arena. Chef Theo Schoenegger does not disappoint. We started with carpaccio and eventually made our way to the main course, exchanging bites of delicious lobster and Chicken Parmigiana. Dinner ended with cappello...chocolate hazelnut mousse lavished with kumquat sauce, crafted in the shape of Sinatra's signature fedora and topped with a birthday candle. Lady Luck made her wish and we were on our way once again...

I have been to Vegas a few times but always under the umbrella of a wedding or other engagement which has taken up my free time. I have always been fascinated with the neon lights and history of Vegas but unfortunately have never been able to fully enjoy the sights and sounds of old Vegas. This trip was a great exception to that statement, Lady Luck makes a fantastic tour guide..complete with names, dates and landmarks from Vegas' electric history. I helped her to change shoes and we began our walk down the strip. A short stop for coffee allowed us a chance to relax, and an overdue stroll through the Flamingo courtyard allowed me a chance to steal a kiss. Eventually, after window shopping a few of her familiar specialty stores..we made our way to the Bellagio fountain. The fountain never ceases to amaze me, however this time the company was extra special. As we crossed the street to Paris,“Luck be a lady” could be heard over Bellagio speakers, we paused for one last show before hailing a cab back to El Cortez.

You would think after walking around for a few hours that the two of us might be a little worn out...I guess we did take a few moments to relax at the foot of her bed...a few moments anyways ;)

I won't go in the fine details but will share that it was a lascivious evening. Our many conversations leading up to the rendezvous had certainly helped to build an abundance of carnal tension. We did break stride from time to time...a new music selection here, a tilted hat there. Lady Luck's body is a thing to be cherished...the massage was more for me than her. ;)

The following morning she awoke in my arms, just as beautiful as the night before. We shared a few more “uplifting” moments and nurtured our remaining time together. Although I knew I would miss her...after a passionate kiss, I bid her farewell. It would have been pretty difficult for the concierge to miss the smile on my face as I strolled past him that morning...I wonder what he contemplated... Oh, if he only knew.

edit: Wanna read Lady Luck's account of the evening? Spoilers below, shield your eyes!

Ray Drecker is going through some tough times...the NFL career he was planning on never panned out, he's the coach of a losing high school basketball team, divorced...and his house just caught fire. What is a guy like Ray to do? After attending a seminar on how to become a multimillionaire, Ray is encouraged to “identify his own tool” and embrace the skill/gift that will help boost him up the ladder of success. Ray's gift is that he is well endowed...and after a receiving the following insult; “you wanna be a millionaire, why don't you go market your dick!”, he decides to become a straight male escort.

Coach Drecker promptly buys a prepaid cell phone, box of condoms and takes out an ad in the back pages of the Detroit Examiner;

**Big Donnie** Will give you every inch of his love. My size fits all. Tall, Blond, Fit!

Ray's expert marketing abilities as a male companion are also displayed when he includes a photo of his “gift” with his on-line ad.

**I have yet to participate in this form of marketing, I was hoping James would be the first of our crew to give this a shot...I don't think it's going to happen. ;)

Eventually Jane Adam's character comes along and agrees to act as Ray's pimp. Tanya starts up Happiness Consultants, which is her take on a male escort service.

So far I have really enjoyed the program. The characters are well developed and the plot has a simple formula that will allow HBO's writers to keep us tuning in by introducing new, interesting clients and I would imagine, some entertaining regulars. As far as accuracy goes...Hung is not a documentary, it's a comedy. Straight male escorts come in all shapes and sizes, Ray may not have the skills of Cole Carter...but he does make us laugh.

**This is not to say that Cole won't make you laugh, his skills do extend to that department.

Mistress Matisse's most recent column is titled “Male-for-Female Escorts/Market Penetration” and was inspired by Hung. I was contacted by Matisse to answer a few questions regarding my thoughts on the show and it's potential impact on women hiring male companions. At the time, I had yet to watch the show but did respond back with some thoughts on the topic. I was not quoted in the article, but you can read the column here, and the Q & A below.

Have you seen/heard about the TV show Hung? If so, what do you think of it?
Over the past couple of weeks I have been emailed links to the HUNG trailer but at this point, I must admit, I have yet to watch an episode. From what my friends say, it is an entertaining show.

Do you think the show is an indication that people's attitudes about women hiring men have changed? Or do you think that the show will, in itself, help change people's ideas about male escorts?
Although certainly not at the same level as our female counterparts, the presence of male companions in popular culture has been growing. If you had asked about films that include male escorts ten years ago, I would have most likely listed Midnight Cowboy and American Gigolo. Over the past decade the male courtesan has been offered a few leading roles in cinema such as Nicolas Cage's film Sonny, and now Thomas Jane's role in HUNG.

Since I have not watched the program I unfortunately cannot comment on its impact regarding the public's attitude towards women hiring men. I do believe that a more realistic portrayal of what the modern companion is could certainly help to shed some misconceptions about the profession. For the most part, we are portrayed as tragic figures, often streetwalkers with a history of violence giving back room hand jobs to support a drug habit. I am a drug free, full-time student who's never been to jail. I grew up in a loving household and have never visited a glory hole, despite seeing nothing wrong with them. The money I make from work is used to both pay my tuition and to fund a gallery which I plan on opening when I finish with school.

What do you think the biggest misconception is about male escorts?
I would certainly say that there are a couple of misconceptions about male escorts, but it seems the most prevalent ideal is that the men for women in the escorting world also meet with men. Moreover, the straight card is a difficult notion to get across without seeming to be homophobic. I have lived on the Hill for many years and half of my close friends are either gay or lesbian. I would certainly get more business if I was Bi. I just prefer women, plain and simple.

What's the biggest real challenge?
Advertising. Although Seattle does have a strong sexual positive community, the hobbyist portion is mostly constrained to public venues for women's advertisements and men's discussion of working ladies. Furthermore, this is not just limited to Seattle. Nationally it is difficult to find locales where a straight male escort can advertise to his target audience. I would say that the majority of my clientèle have found me through either a Google search or word of mouth.

The verdict is still out on how the show will effect the public's view on male companionship. If nothing else, I would imagine it will at least open some eyes to the topic. Apparently Showtime has an adaptation of David Sterry's book Chicken in the works. Are we about to experience an influx of male escorts on the ol' boob tube? This was Smith's sole request as I was packing for my fortnight in the Emerald City. I was thinking perhaps dancing shoes, an umbrella (not really...as a step child of Seattle I know never to use one), or a bikini for stand-up paddle boarding. But a racket? Egad I am not good at tennis. I can hit a baseball, set a spike in volleyball, and keep up the best of them on a sport-bike. But tennis?

We arrived at Seattle Central's dual courts, and to our chagrin, they were both taken. The sweet gent working alone on his power serves kindly asked if we wanted to join. I laughed and thanked his effort, but explained why that would not be such a good idea. Smith and I looked around at our options and noted the empty basketball court. No net, hmmm? Worse yet…no twelve foot fencing to keep us safely enclosed. We had only brought three balls and the construction workers working nearby didn’t look as though they would simply drop their sawzalls and retrieve wayward strays every five minutes.

Glancing at the other tennis goers, we determined they were going nowhere fast. So, throwing caution to the wind, we set up on the basketball court. We looked each other up and down and had to chuckle at the dichotomy between the workout garb and the “evening wear” we had worn for our joint photoshoot the day before. Needless to say, I look ridiculous in running shoes and shorts. Next time I am wearing a short tennis skirt! And my entire outfit is going to be black! I had a running joke with a friend years back that we should take up tennis and only wear black. Black wristbands, black skirts, black shoes, black socks, black headbands, etc. We thought it would be hilarious. It is still funny in my own head at least, lol.

We began. It did not go as bad as it could have, but we certainly got a fair workout by simply chasing down the balls. I certainly lobed a few onto the baseball diamond forty feet away and Smith knocked a couple into the neighboring courts. The others were generous in returning our property but I can totally picture that they threw the balls back and turned to their partner and rolled their eyes. Given how bad we were, I would have rolled my eyes as well, lol. After a good thirty minutes we gave up and threw around the half flat basketball someone had left on the court. That did not go much better. I played only one year of basketball in high school for a reason. No bueno! I was pleased to see that Smith knew how to dribble and shoot like an old timer. I will need to take notes next time.

After Smith’s interest waned in my serious lack of coordination, he showered and headed off to school and work. I meandered home after purchasing a smoothie and prepared for my afternoon rendezvous with one of my favorite Seattle gentlemen, Elm. He had recently had a birthday, and as he is one of the best gift givers on this glorious planet Earth and I adore him, I walked to Seattle Caviar Co. and grabbed a bottle of his favorite champagne. And of course a jar of perfect minuscule grayish black pearls! Elm and I celebrated his birthday in style via a glorious afternoon. He left with a smile on his face and as I gingerly closed the door after our departing kiss, I also with a smile, melted happily into the red velvet chaise lounge with a book (Diane Preston's The Boxer Rebellion).

Roughly around 7:00pm, Smith and I decided to finally try the new speakeasy bar on Capitol Hill, The Knee High Stocking Co. Oh…My…Goodness! I was instantly in love. One of Smith and my favorite bartenders in all of Seattle recently took up residence behind the intimate wooden and well stocked bar. After hugging hello our ringleader for the evening, we jumped into sampling the food wares and libations. The cauliflower with anchovy butter is oh so tasty and the rarebit and pretzel is a must. I don’t even like pretzels, lol. For drinks, I tried a cup of one of their house punches. Peach mint julep. I could have downed that entire bowl! Also, as the vibe of the place calls for it, I partook in a glass of absinthe. There is nothing quite like the ritual of an absinthe fountain languorously dripping water onto the sugar cube nestled above the verdant tonic. I slowly savored each sip and felt instantly thrust back into the 1920’s. Knee High’s dark blue walls, dark wood, chandeliers, and moody jazz all come together and scream speakeasy. All that is missing of course is a light haze of cigarette smoke.

Smith and I must have stayed at Knee High for four hours. We laughed away the evening with some friends that stopped by, the owner, and of course the jubilant bartender. A couple of us may have even tried some new dance moves as one of us in a hip hop class and the other is in a salsa class. That of course brought more laughter.

I decided I should probably head home around 11:00pm as I had an early morning appointment. As much as I would have adored staying at Knee High, I really enjoy my morning time with gentlemen and I am quite sure they appreciate me looking refreshed after a good seven hours sleep, lol. I bid farewell to my old and new friends at my new favorite bar and gave Smith a huge hug and kiss. We went our separate ways for the evening as he had a lady friend that desired his company for a night cap. I walked home, brushed my teeth, and smiled into the mirror before jumping under the covers. Oh how I love summery days and nights in Seattle…tennis rackets and all.

Lincoln, Funk and Kumamotos

Gwen was in town no less than two hours before the hi jinx where under way. We started out Thursday morning with a photo shoot. The lovely and talented Elizabeth Raab was on hand showing off her fine tuned skills behind the lens. I am excited to see how my new photographs turn out and also to check out how well I performed as a “delightful prop” in the other model's shots. Gwen and the other girls where as gorgeous as ever...I am a lucky bastard to have spent the day with such talented and fun spirited ladies.

On Thursday evening we decided to check out a new restaurant recommended to us by one of Gwen's friends. Frank's Oyster House & Champagne Parlor can be found north of University Village and does not disappoint. Gwen and I were overly sated when we left. We shared a dozen oysters and a few cocktails followed by a delicious entrée of steak tartar and scalloped potatoes. I would highly recommend this fantastic place; the food was amazing, the service was friendly and the design/feel of the interior makes it quite easy to sink back in your chair and take in the ambiance.

We followed up dinner with an evening of music. One of our favorite local funk bands was performing and we were front and center on the dance floor; shaking our assets until the lights came up. During the cab ride home Gwen shared a new and interesting artist with me. Justine Lai's newest series depicts herself having sex with the presidents of the United States in chronological order (she's up to Ulysses S. Grant). As opposed to taking a more hardcore approach, Lai playfully attempts to demythologize the presidents by inserting herself into their personal lives. The filming of a sci-fi movie set in the distant year 2000 is in trouble. The director's obsession with the actress who plays the sexy secret agent Dragonfly (Angela Lindvall) has clouded his judgement and the film has no ending. A young American (Jeremy Davies), in Paris to document his life on film with total honesty, is brought in to finish the movie with a bang. This proves to be difficult when the line between his fantasy life and reality becomes blurred, and he finds himself seduced by the charms of Dragonfly. " - IMDB

I really enjoyed this film and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys the Danger:Diabolik genre.

On a side note...my partner in crime will be arriving in Seattle tomorrow. My arms and legs where exhausted and my face a little sun burnt from a fantastic day spent outside. It was a day full of activities and witty banter with a very special new friend. For privacy sake, and the opportunity to use an inside joke...I'll just call her lady Marmalade ;)

I was introduced to the lovely Lady Marmalade through a mutual acquaintance. I was a little nervous leading up to our first rendezvous but that was all laid to rest within five minutes of conversation. I have a strange tendency when meeting someone for the first time to find similarities they share with Hollywood's best. LM could easily rival James Dean's opposite in Rebel Without a Cause. Natalie Wood and LM both share a smile that could stop an army, a constellation of perfectly placed freckles and eyes that are so breathtaking you'll find yourself renting and rewinding in a desperate attempt to relive the moment when your view first met hers. With Charlie Parker pushing us along we uncovered quite a few similarities of our own, a few of which seemed especially appropriate; a love for jazz, the water and an addiction neither of us could seem to kick...cheese and crackers. So, there we were...sitting on the back deck of her boat snacking away and listening to the Yard bird Suite.

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon out on the water and the sun beat down on our feet as they peeked out from underneath the aft covering. As we watched a man and women paddle across the horizon, commanding a pair of stand up paddle boards, LM shared with me that it was a somewhat regular experience for her to gaze lustfully at this couple on Sunday afternoons. As much as she admired the couple she also mentioned that she had never tried paddle boarding. I proclaimed that it was time we rid ourselves of this horrible addiction to triscuits and white cheddar...“let's go for a paddle!” I told her that I happen to know a place in Seattle where one can rent said paddle boards.

In no time at all we were suited up and out on the water. We struggled at first to keep our balance but eventually grew confident with our abilities. We took turns leading the way and pointing out things that caught our eye both under the water and atop the cliff lining of the Puget Sound. Our updated version of the afternoon stroll was not without its trials and tribulations however...at one point we did have a minor collision which resulted in us toppling over in to the water. Shortly after the fender bender I was informed that I had fallen victim to an impromptu game of Battleship and that I had in fact lost. We eventually worked our way back toward the marina and spent about 15 minutes lazily anchored atop our boards staring back at the boat where our journey began.

There is something to be said for conversations transpired while drifting in the aquatic. I've certainly had some interesting topics come up during surf sessions with friends, most of which took place staring back at the coast we first swam away from only hours ago. So much can happen in just a few hours at sea.

After drying off and LM reminding me three or four times that she was the victor at Battleship we took our story full circle and positioned ourselves on the boat's loveseat accompanied by two glasses of red wine and Ella Fitzgerald. The conversation was rife with topics ranging from oversea travels to risqué movie theater hi jinx. LM suggested that I share the day's events in my online journal. This brought up a question that I have been asking myself ever since the original idea of a blog came up, “What is appropriate to share and what is best kept behind closed doors?” Well, I think so far it's safe to say that I have kept my chivalry intact...for all you know the evening stopped there; I finished up my glass of wine, kissed her on the cheek and I went on my merry way.

But then where did that inside joke come from...?

“There are many persons who look on Sunday as a sponge to wipe out the sins of the week”
-Henry Ward Beecher

“...the rest of us prefer to tack a few more on”
-Smith Curren

Welcome to the Past and Pending

Thanks for taking the time to check out my new project. I plan to use this journal as a forum through which I can share my plans and experiences. Whether it's a journey to the coast in search of those perfect head high waves or a night out on the town sharing cocktails and a dance with a beautiful woman...I think I can find something interesting in this sometimes strange life to write about.

A little about me...I find myself at twenty-nine searching out new and unique situations to toss myself in to. About six months ago a close friend of mine suggested (after a few drinks, long day of travel and a back massage) that I just might be cut out for a different line of work from what my 9 to 5 resume was overflowing with. I had been aware of her profession for some time and must say that the idea of following suit had crossed my mind on more than one occasion. We spent the next few hours sipping mint juleps and contemplating just how one goes about becoming a true companion to women of leisure. Needless to say, it takes a lot more than 2 hours and a few mint juleps to transition into a novel lifestyle such as this. The journey so far has been stimulating to say the least...I've learned new skills, visited amazing places and most importantly shared memorable moments with some very special new friends.

As the seasons continue to change so do our lives. It's inevitable that each of us will run into unique situations through out the course of our lives. I happen to be going through one right now and I'm excited to share it with you...well, parts of it anyways. ;)

Please feel free to shoot me an email with any comments or suggestions you may have. I'm a complete amateur at this blog gig and can definitely use the feedback.

And now that the introduction is out of the way...let's get things started with a with a Gibson served straight up and Ol' Blue Eyes laying it down.
